what are your shipping options and policies?

We offer several options through the US Postal Service. Your shipping costs will depend on the size of your order and destination. We do our best to ship your order within 1-2 business days. If you order expedited shipping, we will expedite packing as well.

are my yarns ready to ship? how does it all work? 

We supply our shop only with yarn and fiber that is in stock, dyed and ready to ship. Orders are shipped within 1-2 business days.

SPROUTS - Sprouts are our unique, one-of-a-kind colorways that will not be repeated. These are the happy accidents or serendipitous blends of color that result in a unique, non-repeatable color.

Sprouts may be the result of special experiments with new colors or just the results of creative playtime! Some sprouts may go on to become repeatable colors in the future, but most will only appear once.

So, when you see the green “Sprout” sticker on a skein you love, don’t let it get away! It’s truly one-of-a-kind.

will the color of the yarn I receive be exactly the same as the color on the website?

Although we try very hard to accurately represent each colorway with clear photos, many factors can affect how images appear online, including variations in monitors or displays, lighting conditions while viewing online images, and the light the yarn was originally photographed in. We always try to photograph our products in as neutral light as possible.

do you accept custom orders?

Normally, Yes! We are currently not accepting custom orders until May 2017, as we have several large projects in the works.

Custom orders have the following minimum requirements:

Yarn - a minimum of 3 skeins per colorway

Fiber - a minimum of 2 braids (or about 8 ounces) per colorway

Send us a note on our Contact Us page, or email us at robin@octoberhousefiberarts.com to request a custom order.

can I order by phone?

We are a tiny (read: two!) staff and are not set up to take phone orders. If you are unable to order through our website, send us an email and we'll work out another way for you to place your order.

what is your return & refund policy?

Your happiness is always our goal. We gladly accept your returns or exchanges within 30 days of your order date. Please be aware shipping charges are spent when the item is sent, and therefore are not refundable. Please include your order number and a note explaining if you would like an exchange or refund of your purchase. 

PLEASE NOTE - due to the immediate nature of PDF downloadable patterns, all pattern sales are final. We encourage you to ask any questions you may have about the patterns or the downloading process before purchasing. We are always happy to help if you need further explanation of the process.

can you wind my yarn for me?

Since we are so small, we just don't have the time or ability to offer this service for our customers.

do you accept wholesale orders?

We do! We are currently unable to accept any new wholesale accounts, but if you think your store would be a good fit for our brand, please email us and tell us about you and your store. 

If you would like to be placed on a waiting list for wholesale accounts, please contact us and we'll add your name to the list.
